My exploration as an artist is nourished by the journey I have made in my life through different disciplines. A constant in my life has been movement, as a migrant, mountaineer, aquanaut; between disciplines and in different media of artistic expression.
Graphic Design
My college foundation. Through semiotics, my work comes up not only from a personal need to express myself through art, but also from a study of the visual signs and shapes of my socio-economic, political and cultural environment, which is manifested in each of my projects, either through social criticism, denouncement or symbolisms.
Film & animation
My pillars. There is always something to tell, I am a lover of history and myths; the visual narrative is an element I like to cast upon other disciplines, and that uplifts each one of my works.
Nature
Nature is an endless source of inspiration. My travels as a mountaineer and cave diver completely change my relation with my environment, from the peak of Iztaccihuatl, Alpine landscapes, canyons, caves, Cabo Pulmo National Park, to the depths of the cave systems in Quintana Roo. In a race against the clock, I feel an obligation to preserve these magical places and spread the importance they have for keeping the fragile balance of our planet.
Emigrant
I have been an emigrant in several stages in my life; since I was 9 years old, I have lived in the USA, Canada, Germany and Spain, where I currently live. Always with my hometown as a returning point, where I have solid roots thanks to my family and friends. My work has the inertia of my experience, there have been projects that have been consolidated throughout the years, from the original idea to the completion in a media.
